There are some artists that roll through town that it's not acceptable to miss no matter how many times you've seen them, how outrageous the price is or weird the venue. Dave Alvin is one of those performers who always puts on a spectacular performance with beautiful songs and some of the finest guitar playing you've heard. Last night Alvin came through once again by not sending one sweaty member of the audience home disappointed.
Playing songs from his new album Eleven Eleven (Yep Roc, 2011) as well as old favorites, Alvin played a 90-minute set that had the crowd bobbing their heads, playing air guitar and generally having a good time.
