Tonight: Kentucky Knife Fight to leave you bleeding at Off Broadway [Preview]
It's Friday night in a busy October and you're looking for something to entertain you. If your criteria includes both cheap and fun then we've got a perfect recommendation for you.
Tonight, the Riverfront Times' Best Rock Band of 2011, Kentucky Knife Fight, bring the touring van back through town for a quick proverbial shit, shower and shave before hitting the road again to win over the masses.
The St. Louis based quintet has been pounding the pavement all over the Midwest, East Coast and South drumming up new fans with their mix of blues infused punk with a country honky-tonk attitude. Show your love for the returning troubadours and get out to see them bust their asses while you're gasping for air.
Most certainly, the house will be rocking tonight at Off Broadway as these local boys return to town with John Paul Keith & the One, Four, Fives and the Upright Animals in tow to kick up their boots and have the tallboys flowing.
Along the way, the local Metro East boys convinced their buddies from Memphis, Fat Possum Records artist John Paul Keith and the One, Four, Fives to bring their signature soul infused rock sound with them for a pair of St. Louis dates. Promoting the new album, The Man That Time Forgot, Keith "explores a wider range of themes and influences – echoes of Tex-Mex, garage rock, countrypolitan, mid-60′s soul/pop, fiery rockabilly, and even Mose Allison’s brand of jazz-blues."
Doors open at 8:30 and the show starts promptly at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $7 for those 21 and over $10 for under 21. Buy here or at the door.
