Jonathan Richman tonight at Off Broadway

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - After 2 1/2 years, underground Rock 'n Roll icon Jonathan Richman brings his quirky brand of rock/pop/etc. back to St. Louis. He performs tonight in front of the beautiful red velvet curtain at Off Broadway with drummer Tommy Larkin by his side.

The venue is located at 3509 Lemp Ave. in the Historic Cherokee Lemp District. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Admission is $15 if you're over 21 with another $3 surcharge ($18 total) if you're under 21.

With the weather warming up If you're up for getting out of the house please come by and have a drink, say "Hi" and get ready for a great night of music! Tomorrow you can read my review of the show on the KDHX website.

To gear up here's a few videos for your viewing enjoyment. Two different versions of The Modern Lovers classic "Roadrunner" for you to decide which one is better. Next are some performances from the early 1990's from Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Look for a very young looking O'Brien at the beginning of the third clip of Richman playing "Vampire Girl." Also, from the same show a performance of "Everyday Clothes." Finally a video from the next year or two of Richman performing an outstanding version of "Let Her Go Into The Darkness." Enjoy!
