My 2010 Wrap Up: Albums

Hey folks out there in the interwebs! I'm going to go ahead and kick off my existence on this here blog with a wrap up of the albums from 2010 that really left a mark. I thought I might make numbered lists and try to rank the albums, but that would take me all of 2011 and I already feel bad about not having posted anything on here yet. :) So, here goes... Two records that I bought in late 2009 that go on this list because I spent a lot of time listening to them in 2010. (See, I'm already messing up the rules.)

Tom Russell - Blood And Candle Smoke

Lucero - 1372 Overton Park

Records that were put out in 2010 that I actually bought.

Two Cow Garage - Sweet Saint Me

Tim Barry - 28th & Stonewall

Micah Schnabel - When The Stage Lights Go Dim

Gaslight Anthem - American Slang

Minus The Bear - Omni

Belleview - Fountains

Bruce Springsteen - The Promise

Ultimate Fakebook - Daydream Radio Is Smiling Static

The stuff that I should have bought in 2010 that I haven't yet list...

Sage Francis - Li(f)e

Atmosphere - To All My Friends, Blood Makes the Blade Holy: The Atmosphere EPs

Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

The New Pornographers - Together

Alejandro Escovedo - Street Songs Of Love

Justin Townes Earle - Harlem River Blues

Drive-By Truckers - The Big To-Do

Neil Young - Le Noise

Old  97's  - The Grand Theatre Volume One

Carolina Chocolate Drops - Genuine Negro Jig

Patty Griffin - Downtown Church

Wow, I didn't buy a whole lot this year. This may have to do with listening to lots of satellite radio and hearing most of this stuff quite regularly on there. It could also be because most of the music stores, er, stores that sell music around here totally suck. Most of my trips to Vintage usually end up with me going "What was I looking for again?" Their stock has been pretty crappy lately as well also, I really should hit up Euclid more often. Actually, most of the stuff I did buy I either bought at a show or pre-ordered from the artist's website. That's probably better for the artist anyway. Well, those are the records in 2010 that caught my attention and my ears found appealing. I'm sure I forgot a lot of other really good records, please be sure to yell at me for doing so. Next post, memorable shows from the 2010.
